Home at Last
We were a young married couple with two small children when we contacted the church in Takapuna through a family friend. We had been brought up in Christian homes and had received the Lord as our Saviour when we were young. In the early years of our marriage we met with groups of Christians outside of the denominations, and for some years this satisfied us, but gradually we realised that there had to be something more meaningful and purposeful for us to advance in our Christian experience. We felt dissatisfied and had the feeling there must be a place where we would feel at home. So we began to pray that the Lord would lead us to that place.
After about one year we started to attend some church meetings, only occasionally for about six months, then we were invited to a summer conference on the book of Hebrews. Every day we had the strong sense the Lord was calling us out - out of where we were and into the recovery of the proper church life. Although this was a difficult time for us, inwardly we had the Lord's assurance - this is where you will be at home - and outwardly we had His Word encouraging us to go on with Him.
We
have been in the church life for twenty five years now, and we are so thankful
to the Lord for the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. It is life giving
and very practical in it's application to help us grow in the divine life
and to be co-ordinated and built up with the members of His Body, the Church.
